Your Response Matters

Census results help determine how billions of dollars in federal funding flow into states and communities each year.   The results determine how many seats in Congress each state gets.

It's mandated by the U.S. Constitution in Article 1, Section 2: The U.S. has counted its population every 10 years since 1790.

Make it Count

The U.S. Constitution mandates that the country count its  population once every 10 years. The results are used to adjust or redraw  electoral districts, based on where populations have increased or  decreased.

State legislatures or independent bipartisan commissions are  responsible for redrawing congressional districts. The U.S. Census  Bureau provides states with population  for this purpose.

If you have not yet responded to the 2020 Census, please help complete the count. You can access the 2020 Census online using a desktop computer, laptop, smartphone, or tablet, and can also respond by phone or mail. Everyone should respond to the 2020 Census as soon as they receive their invitation — and when you’re finished, make sure your friends, families and social networks know about the importance of responding.
