Our Brick-and-Mortar Building Hours:
Tuesday & Thursday: 11:00 am - 7:00 pm
Wednesday & Friday: 9:00 am - 5:00 pm
Saturday: 9:00 am - 1:00 pm
Closed Sundays, Mondays, and Holidays.

Please note that during the school year, if both Alton Central School AND Prospect Mountain High School are closed due to inclement weather, then the Gilman Library will also be closed. If the schools delay opening, then the Gilman Library will delay opening by 2 hours.
Safety is our highest concern. It is advisable to call ahead to confirm that we are open for the day. In unsafe weather, decisions are based on the safety of road conditions, snow clearance from our parking lot, and the safety of foot traffic on our walkways.
In extreme weather conditions, tune in to WMUR for updates regarding the library closing. In the event of a delayed opening, all morning programs are canceled. Please tune in to WMUR for updates. Please check WMUR TV 9, or online at either

If inclement weather and poor travel conditions occur in the evening, on a weekend, or on a school vacation day, the library may be closed, delay opening, or close early, at the discretion of the Library Director. In all cases of library weather closings, please check with WMUR for the latest updates.
