FRIENDS OF THE GILMAN LIBRARY OPEN HOUSE

FALL RAFFLE - Drawing winners at 3:30 pm on Friday, October 25th

 

Join the fun!  Stop by and enjoy some homemade cookies and refreshments.  We will be offering books, DVDs and seasonal décor for sale at our Friends Corner.  


Buy a ticket for the Open House raffle...you could win a beautiful crocheted afghan, a festive Halloween banner or a handmade fabric pumpkin. 


Tickets are $1.00 apiece for each of the three separate drawings.     


1.) Reversible Halloween Quilted Wall Hanging

2.) Fabric Pumpkin 

3.) Afghan in autumn hues of browns, tans, and green   


The three winning tickets will be drawn at 3:30 on Friday, October 25th, during the Friends of the Gilman Library Open House.

FRIENDS OF THE GILMAN LIBRARY OPEN HOUSE : FRIDAY OCTOBER 25th

Dear Friends, 


National Friends of the Library Week is October 20 through October 26th.


The Friends of the Gilman Library will be hosting an Open House on Friday, October 25th from 10 am to 4 pm.


We are in need of recent (10 years or less) books and DVDs for the event.


Please deliver your donation to the Library’s main desk.


Join the fun!  Stop by and enjoy some homemade cookies and refreshments.

No Check-a-Tech for Two weeks

The Check-a-Tech Service 

will not be available on October 17th and it will not be available on October 24th.  Check-A-Tech will resume on October 31st.  Make your appointments now.

Need  some computer help?  Check in to the Gilman Library and book a  twenty-minute appointment with  I.T. Specialist, Josh Monaco, on  Thursdays, between 11 am and noon or between 4 and 5 pm.

JUST A FRIENDLY REMINDER

We appreciate your generous donations of gently used items.  However, due to limited space, all donations need to be approved* at the circulation desk, rather than deposited in the after-hours-book-return-drop-box.   


DVDs and CDs must never be dropped into the after-hours-book-return-drop-box, as they can be damaged by incoming returns.   


The after-hours-book-return-drop-box is for just for returns only, returned after hours only.   All other items should be returned directly to the circulation desk.  


*Due to limited space, donations to our book sale must be gently used, and no older than five years.  Additional criteria must be met to add items to the collection.

AN INVITATION

 Many  community groups and organizations book  their meetings in our Agnes  Thompson Meeting room on the lower level.  You are welcome to host your  meeting here. All meetings are to be  not-for-profit, open to the  public and no monies charged for entrance.  Just a friendly reminder: Monies for supplies may be collected, but sales of products are forbidden.  We do allow authors to sell their books at  library-sponsored  events.  Please think of us when searching for a venue for your group.
