Gilman Library Monthly Calendar
Holiday & Weather Closings
The Gilman Library observes five holidays per year with the following closures:
- New Year's Day - January 1st
- Juneteenth - June 19th
- Independence Day - July 4th
- Veteran's Day - November 11th
- Thanksgiving - 4th Thursday & following Friday, in November
- Christmas Day - December 25th
Our Virtual Library Never Closes!
Our Brick-and-Mortar Building Hours:
Tuesday & Thursday: 11:00 am - 7:00 pm
Wednesday & Friday: 9:00 am - 5:00 pm
Saturday: 9:00 am - 1:00 pm
Closed Sundays, Mondays, and Holidays.

Please note that during the school year, if both Alton Central School AND Prospect Mountain High School are closed due to inclement weather, then the Gilman Library will also be closed. If the schools have a delayed opening, then the Gilman Library will also delay opening for two hours.
Safety is our highest concern. It is advisable to call ahead to confirm that we are open for the day. In unsafe weather, decisions are based on the safety of road conditions, the safety of foot traffic on our walkways and entryways, and the safe removal of snow and ice from our parking areas.
In extreme weather conditions, tune in to WMUR for updates regarding the library closing. In the event of a delayed opening, all morning programs are canceled. Please tune in to WMUR for updates.

If inclement weather and poor travel conditions occur in the evening, on a weekend, or on a school vacation day, the library may be closed, delay opening, or close early, at the discretion of the Library Director.
