GILMAN LIBRARY’S 2025 ‘COLOR OUR WORLD’ SUMMER READING CHALLENGE BEGINS JUNE 21st.
The Gilman Library, has adopted the 2025 theme, ‘Color Our World,’ from the Collaborative Summer Library Program (CSLP).
The kick-off event on Saturday, June 21st, will be the showing of a colorful Movie Matinee in the Agnes Thompson Meeting Room, on the lower level of the library.
The Reading Program will continue through the season until Saturday, August 9th.
The program welcomes all ages, ranging from the youngest children to the most senior adults.
There are several fun challenges to add to your reading pleasure, whether in quiet solitude or as a family reading together.
Challenge # One: Log your reading hours to earn raffle tickets. For every documented hour of reading, per person, obtain a raffle ticket applicable to the ‘Color Our World’ Summer Reading Program prizes.
Challenge # Two: Get a Color Palette Challenge sheet and complete the activities listed. Some examples are: Read a book by an author with a color in their name (i.e.: E.B. White or Dan Brown) and Color a bookmark.
Challenge # Three: Sign up for a Color Our World event. For ages 3-8, there will be a Watercolor Paint program. Ages 8-14 sign up for the “Paint a Library Bookend” event. There are also YA and Adult Paint Nights planned.
